SCULPTOR

When & Where
May 17, 2025, 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Steve's Studio, 79 Teawaddle Hill Rd, Leverett, MA 01054, USA
Details
Join us for a weekend workshop during which we will sculpt and draw the human skull. Our goals will be to gain a solid understanding of the skull, its planes and anatomical features, in order to create a structure on which to build a lifelike portrait, whether on paper or in clay. Working from plaster skulls, photographs, and a live model we will learn practical methods and skills for rendering a convincing volumetric and proportionally correct, simplified skull. While it's tempting to jump right to interesting details, like eyes and expressive wrinkles, our attention will be on seeing and crafting the big picture.
Fee: $250, with sliding scale, includes armature and clay.
You may register in full with a credit card. If you wish to pay by check, or discuss payment options, please contact Steve directly: stephensaxenian@gmail.com.
